I’ve been Mrs. Kiomall for one year.
It has been an amazing year and we are so excited that this is only the beginning. I honestly can’t believe it was over a year ago that we were packing up our car and heading to Virginia to celebrate with some of our closest friends and family. We had planned our wedding weekend for just over a year and it was absolutely perfect. With the help of my sister, we settled on Wolftrap Farm in Gordonsville, Virginia, located just outside Charlottesville, as our wedding venue. We originally dreamed of a vineyard wedding as my favorite weekend activity was to drag Brent along to the multiple, stunning Charlottesville vineyards; however, as soon as we stepped onto Wolftrap Farm we knew we found the perfect place. We were able to have our wedding party stay on the property with us for three nights, so there was zero traveling needed. There were fire pits for late night bonfires and the atmosphere was so relaxed, with rolling hills and beautiful weather. There was so much to celebrate in May 2014. My mom graduated with her Masters in Education, concentrating in Autism, Devon & Katherine graduated from GW with their Doctorate in Medicine, Alex graduated from UPenn with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Christie graduated from UMB with her Law degree, and Jesse graduated with his bachelor’s in Colorado. It was Brent’s Pap Pap’s birthday (happy birthday today!!). We also had friends and family traveling from the Philippines and California to Georgia and Connecticut to celebrate with us! We have so much to be thankful for.
Since then, my sister and Mike have been married and this coming year five couples who attended our wedding will say yes at their own weddings!! I’m looking at you Mike & Ilana, Emily & Ford, Jared & Annelise, Katherine & Devon, and Jason & Bobby! Our wedding team won. We had a perfect day and it couldn’t have happened without having such a talented and hardworking team to help us make the magic happen. I wish we lived closer to y’all! I still dream about that pimento cheese burger from South Fork Food Truck and the delicious pizza from Blue Ridge Pizza. Barb Wired rocks and always works with the food vendors to make sure the bride & groom get some of the food to take home at the end of the night. Everything was set up beautifully and Brent was stunned that everything came together so wonderfully. Oh, and we ate our funfetti cake topper on the 7 hour drive home… so we’ll have to pick up a slice of cake today to celebrate instead!
